PHILOSOPHY

"Und doch ist einer, welcher dieses Fallen, unendlich sanft in seinen Händen hält."

Rainer Maria Rilke

Osteopathy is a holistic type of medicine that is primarily used to diagnose and treat functional disorders.

It sees people as functional units. When a lesion (injury, "blockage, or imbalance") occurs on any part of the body, the entire body must compensate for this lesion. This explains why the problem is not always where the pain is. A lesion is characterized by a loss of movement or a change of direction, rhythm or tension in the tissue. Function and structure are interdependent. The structure (e.g. bone) determines the function (e.g. mobility) and the function shapes the structure. I will activate your self-regulating and self-healing powers and try to restore the balance within your body.

Precise anatomical knowledge of the blood, lymph and nerve tracts is crucial, as these structures provide the tissue with nutrients and information.

Complaints or reasons when you should consider osteopathic treatment:

• Back and neck problems: pain, lumbago, hernias, blockages, muscle stiffness, restricted movement, etc.

• Joint problems: pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, persistent joint inflammation etc.

• Headache: tension headache, migraines, dizziness

• Sports injuries: sprains, recurrent inflammation, tendonitis, cramps, pain etc.

• Organ complaints: heartburn, stomach acid, feeling of fullness, intestinal complaints, constipation, indigestion, regular complaints, etc.

• Nerve complaints: carpal tunnel syndrome, arms & legs falling asleep etc.

Osteopathy can help children and babies with excessive crying, reflux, postural deviations, behavioural problems, difficulty concentrating, poor reading and spelling, developmental problems, sleep disorders, abdominal pain, intestinal cramps, stool problems etc.
